After the impressive way that Flint Mountain despatched Cornist Park in midweek, we headed to face FC Queens Park hoping for a repeat.
FC Queens Park started the match much better and quickly found themselves in front. A mistake from Pat Davey in defence allowed the Queens Park striker to get in and confidently fire past Mountain goalkeeper Ricky Bennett.
The lead quickly doubled after ten minutes when captain Stuart Buxton could only direct a cross into his own net.
Mountain didn't get started until just before half time and managed to get a chances but no goals heading into half time.
Mountain looked to change their fortunes in the second half, however, it was Queens Park who got the pivotal third goal. A throw in into the box was allowed to bounce before the striker scored acrobatically.
Mountain did get themselves into the game with a penalty on 58 minutes. Good work by striker Tom Jones in the penalty area forced a rash lunged tackle by the Queens Park defender and the resulting was slotted away by midfielder Craig Jones.
Mountain's second half collapsed shortly after, with Queens Park getting a fourth from a corner before added a fifth and sixth towards the end.
There was a consolation just before the end when good work from Luciano Ciati on the left led to a shot from him which was saved and the rebound was tapped into the empty net by striker Tom Smith.
Next up for Flint Mountain is welcoming Caerwys to Dock Road on Tuesday 20th August hoping for a much better performance and result.
