After yet more misery of postponed games, Halkyn & Flint Mountain were thankful to be back playing as they made the trip up to Johnstown and the test of the league's bottom side, Johnstown Youth. Manager Rob Marshall gave a debut to defender Iwan Williams, whilst Jake Williams finally returned to league action after missing games due to suspension.

After a first minute scare, where Johnstown had a chance fired just wide of Ryan Roberts' post, the Mountain settled into the game and began to push forward for an opening goal. Despite having a massive amount of possession and territory, the away side could not muster a decent chance on goal, with Aled Reece firing wide and Jimmy McGlone shooting straight at the goalkeeper. Just before the half hour, the pressure did finally pay off, as Jack Aitken opening the scoring. Sean Williams, with the ball on the half way line, hit a perfect through ball to Aitken, who beat the Johnstown defence to the ball, before baring down on goal and sliding the ball past the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner. Within a flash, it was two, as Mountain doubled the lead from the restart. Winning the ball back from the home team, the ball found Liam Mortimer on the right. Mortimer curled the ball into the box to Jack Aitken, who saw his shot blocked. As the ball fell in front of goal, Jimmy McGlone stayed alert and turned the rebound past the goalkeeper.

Just before half time, Matty Howard thought he had Mountain third, with his curling shot with the outside of the boot heading to the top corner. Somehow, the Johnstown keeper pulled off a fabulous save to deny him. In the second half, Mountain started the way they ended and it took just two minutes to increase the lead. Aled Reece kept the ball alive on the left before driving forward towards goal. He laid the ball off before a cross into the box found the targetman and he leapt high to head into the corner. Mountain were in complete control and a fourth goal soon followed. Jack Aitken found himself in acres of space on the edge of the area, when the ball fell kindly to him. He hit a shot towards goal, with a deflection taking the ball past the goalkeeper.

Sean Williams was unlucky not to make it five when his long range shot cannoned off the crossbar. Captain Jake Williams did well to prevent the ball going for a goal kick, and crossed towards the back post to a waiting Aled Reece, who headed back across goal, off the post and in for his second of the game. With ten minutes to go, Mountain had their sixth goal, when Jimmy McGlone turned the ball into the net. He had a glorious chance to complete his hat trick with time running out when he was brought down in the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Like so many before him this season, McGlone could not take advantage as he fired wide of the post.
