It was a quick turnaround after Saturday's abandoned game against Llangefni Town with Flint Mountain making a short trip to Saltney Town in our second Ardal North West league game last night. Aden Shannon made two changes from Saturday, with Charlie Hughes replacing Andy Brown and John Danby, signed just in time for the game replacing Jamie King, who suffered a dislocated shoulder.
Mountain could have led after twenty minutes when Charlie Hughes struck the post, but they did then take the lead just three minutes later. From a corner from Ieuan Hewitt, Jack Delgado rose at the back post to head past the Saltney keeper to score his first Mountain goal. Six minutes later, Mountain had a second. Captain Richie Foulkes hit a superb free kick over the wall and past the goalkeeper to double the lead.
In the second half, Mountain added a third in the 57th minute. Ben Brierly picked up the ball just past the half way line, knocked it past the centre back marking him and drove forward. He then hit a sweet shot that flew into the top corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance.
Next up, Flint Mountain play a third game in a week with a trip to Central Park and Denbigh Town on Friday evening, with kick off 19:45.
