In our third pre-season friendly, Halkyn & Flint Mountain welcomed Holywell Town Reserves to Pant Newydd. The reserves side won the Reserves & Colts League last season and would be another good test. The first half was a tight affair, with the better chances falling to the Mountain, they could not find a way through.

In the second half, the tiredness kicked in for the Mountain defence and with twenty minutes to go, a penalty was given. After slotting away the penalty, Holywell took full advantage of the momentum and within seconds, had doubled their lead. Two further goals followed and Mountain ended the game on the back of a four-goal defeat. Despite this, the game once again provided plenty of minutes in the bank for the players, ahead of the start of the NEWFA Challenge Cup Preliminary Round next weekend.
