Flint Mountain continued their preparation for the new season with a friendly against New Brighton Villa, of the Welsh National League. New signing Sean Williams give Mountain an early lead from the penalty spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. Mid way through the half. Villa were level with a low shot across goal, before a similar effort put them ahead shortly afterwards, and a third followed before the half to put the visitors in control.
In the second half, Sean Williams latched onto a return ball from Jack Aitken to find the bottom corner, before Jon Edmonds got Mountain level. The score then switched between the sides, as Villa retook the lead, before Jimmy McGlone raced through on goal and slotted the ball under the goalkeeper. With Villa again retaking the lead, Jon Edmonds rounded the goalkeeper to pass into the empty net, before a late goal give Villa the win.
Next up for Flint Mountain is our final pre-season friendly, as we take on Rhydymwyn U19s on Tuesday evening, before the season begins on Thursday evening.
