After the disappointment of defeat in midweek against a strong AFC Brynford side, Flint Mountain looked to bounce back and gain momentum ahead of the opening league game next Saturday. The final pre season opponents were Abergele FC, who were recently promoted to the Vale of Clwyd Premier Division.
Flint Mountain dominated the opening half but could not find the cutting edge up top and the half ended goalless. In the second half, Jake Williams opened the scoring from midfield with a deflected effort. Shortly afterwards, Lee Messham doubled Mountain's tally with a tap in after the ball had been chipped onto the post. Mountain could have added further but looked comfortable for the remainder of the game, gaining another clean sheet in the process.
Next up for Flint Mountain is the beginning of the North East Wales League season. The Mountain have a free date on the opening day on Tuesday evening. First up will be an away trip to face Mold Town United on Saturday 13th August, with kick off at 14:30. We hope you can come along and support the team to victory.
