After two encouraging performances, Flint Mountain were taught a valuable lesson this evening as Welsh National League side AFC Brynford ran out winners, in a game which saw The Mountain outclassed by their higher league opponents. Despite the efforts of goalkeeper Lee Evans, who saved a penalty in a first half run out, Mountain found themselves 4-0 down in blustery conditions in Brynford.
In the second half, Mountain were able to get into the game a little more, but the first half deficit proved too much to overcome. Mountain's solitary consolation goal came courtesy of Nathan Eccleson, who headed home with just moments of the game remaining.
Next up for Flint Mountain is the conclusion of the pre season program on Saturday, with a trip to face Vale of Clwyd League side, Abergele FC.
