With the disappointment of missing out on playing last week, Flint Mountain were eager to get back to their pre season preparations with a trip to Ffynnongroyw to face Welsh National League outfit, Point of Ayr. Inside the first ten minutes, defender Ian Wynne grabbed two goals to set Flint Mountain on their way. Before the end of the first half, new signing Ian Jones had run through on goal to score his first goal, before Chris Layne picked up Mountain's fourth and Jake Williams scored on his return to the club.
In the second half, Flint Mountain showed their ruthless edge by picking up a further four goals. Both Ian Jones and Chris Layne were able to double their tallies, before goals from Lewis Evans and Nathan Eccleson rounded off an impressive performance.
Next up for Flint Mountain is another short trip, this time to face AFC Brynford on Wednesday evening. Flint Mountain will be looking to emulate today's performance against another Welsh National League side.
