Flint Mountain's pre season campaign continued this evening at Wepre Park, home of FC Nomads Reserves. After a shaky start, Flint Mountain settled into the game and started threatening. Just as Mountain were looking to score, they were rocked by an injury to winger Chris Layne. Layne was forced off with an injury to his ankle, which looks to keep him out for some time. Only a couple of minutes later, Nomads took the lead. After losing the ball in the centre, a ball played over the top of the Mountain defence was not cleared as goalkeeper Ricky Bennett hesitated, allowing the striker to lift the ball over him and into the empty net.
With the enforced changes, Mountain had lost their rhythm, and shortly into the second half, they fell further behind. Again losing the ball in the middle of the park, a ball through to the Nomads striker allowed him to round Bennett and score.
Despite getting further chances in the second half, Mountain were unable to get themselves back into the game. Next up for Flint Mountain is their final pre season game, an away trip to Llansannan, of the Vale of Clwyd League.
