Despite it only being the opening pre season friendly of this new campaign, there was not much to enjoy as Flint Mountain fell to a 5-1 defeat against Mold Alex Reserves. Mold took advantage of some poor set piece management by Mountain to go ahead 2-0 in the first half before Mountain conceded a penalty which was despatched to make it 3-0 at half time.
Manager Stuart Buxton made some pre planned changes at half time and one of those substitutes, Alex Millington, grabbed a consolation goal, lofting the goal over the goalkeeper at the back post. Despite looking a better side in the second half, Mold took further advantage of some clumsy mistakes to further their lead.
Next up for Flint Mountain is an away trip to face AFC Brynford on Tuesday evening, looking to quickly iron out the mistakes which plagued this opening game.
